Realm Of The Vine is a solo minimalist RPG designed as part of the 36 Word RPG Jam where a physical tomato plant is an allegory for a realm that you rule over. Every week, the realm faces a crisis, concluding with a final test that will determine whether your realm flourishes under a new successor...or is consumed by darkness.

The game is intended to closely align with the Jam's theme of Growth

• A tomato seed
• Patience

Enhancing The Experience

While the 36 words allow for the mechanical rules to be expressed, it may be enjoyable to create an imagined world for the game based on your plant's surroundings and behavior. Perhaps: Does your plant grow slowly and carefully, indicating a people that is cautiously expanding into new territories? If you forget to water it one week, does that imply that this week's crisis is a brutal drought? And for a fully cyclical experience - detail your realm on biodegradable paper, and if you succeed, use it in the soil for future rounds.
